Tabetha began dancing at the age of nine. She was trained in tap, ballet, and jazz at “The Dance Spot” in Fullerton, CA. While dancing she had the privilege to study with some of the industries premiere instructors including, Deidre Madrigal, Yvette Macahilig, Joe Tremaine, Jimmy DeFore, and Steven Peck.
In her 25-year teaching career, Tabetha has achieved multiple Regional and National top awards at various dance competitions. Her competition numbers have also earned numerous “Choreography”, “Most Entertaining”, and “Best Showmanship” awards. In 2003 Tabetha was presented with the esteemed “Best Choreographer Award” at the Youth Omni Awards in Los Angeles, CA.
Jazz / Contemporary / Hip Hop / Tap / Ballroom
Alix started dancing at the age of 2 ½, taking her first combo class while still in diapers. She has continued her training throughout the last 20 years in the studio and at conventions gaining inspiration and instruction from her mother, Tabetha Thomas, as well as dancers like Tina Cypher and Allen Cooper. Alix has been on stage since age 4 competing in Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary but her favorite is Jazz. She is an accomplished instructor and choreographer of all ages at the competitive level with Regional and National award-winning accomplishments. Alix currently continues her own passion for competition in Ballroom. Since 2013 she has trained under the supervision of Professional Latin Ballroom World Champions Olga Ginzberg & Sergiy Kvashyn. Alix is a two time World Pro-Am Champion in Latin Ballroom. Alix embodies the true spirit of dance which can be seen in the passion she puts into every class she instructs, whether it’s a solo or production. That passion is felt by her students as she teaches them the same joy, happiness, and fulfillment that the art of dance has brought her.
Lyrical / Jazz
Madison began dancing at the age of 10 and has continued her love for dance through teaching and coaching. She was on the San Marcos Varsity Dance Team for 3 years. In her senior year she was captain of Varsity Dance and student coach for the Cavalier Dance Team. After graduating Madison was asked to re-turn to San Marcos High School to assistant coach. She is an accomplished choreographer, receiving Regional and National recognition with her Jazz and Lyrical numbers. Madison continues to further her abilities and grow as a choreographer, teacher, and leader. She is currently attending Mira Costa College to pursue her goal of becoming a high school dance team director/coach. Madison loves teaching her students, helping them grow as dancers and individuals, and accomplish their goals.
Tap / Jazz
Carissa’s love for dance started in San Diego at the age of 3. She received studio instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical until she graduated High School in 2012. After graduating Carissa attended Sonoma State University on a dance scholarship. While at Sonoma State she had the privilege to train with dance masters such as Alvin Ailey, and Alonzo King Lines, and performed in the ACDA Collegiate Gala. Her study focus was in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Modern dance. She participated in workshops, Master Classes, and all performance opportunities at the University. In addition to competing all 4 years on the Sonoma State Dance team, Carissa also took on the responsibility of growing a tap program at a dance studio local to the college. After intense studies at Sonoma State University, Carissa returned home to Southern California where she continues her love for dance. She has directed at competitive studios and finds her passion in teaching. Carissa is excited to instill her love and passion for dance into all of her students.
Gabriela is excited to be a part of the Edge Dance Academy instructor team. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since. Gabriela’s passion for the arts has continued to bleed into her day to day life as she aspires to pursue further education and a degree in the Creative Arts Therapy field. Growing up, Gabriela trained, competed, and performed many styles of dance, such as: tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, improvisational skills, musical theater, solo vocal performance, and song and dance. Gabriela continued learning and exploring her talents while in college; training at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Throughout her dance career, she has taken classes from choreographers by the likes of Nick Lazzarini, Kyle Hanagami, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, Erin Babbs and the incredible instructors at Murrieta Dance Project, as well as several choreographers through conventions and master classes. Gabriela graduated with a BA in Psychology and minors in Social Work, Sociology, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy and Music from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City in 2018. Gabriela hopes to spread her pure love of dance to those she teaches through her knowledge gained throughout the years, challenging her students to never stop reaching or believing in themselves and her supporting her students endlessly.
